Still Rare

Example of man living in harmony with nature - Thanks Marc for this little drop of optimism in today's world's mire. Looks non-alcoholic but cheers you up anyway:)
Cheers,
Jacek

Re: Still Rare

There are many things that are non-alcoholic and still cheer you up. Camping in the "Hidden Valley" campground is probably NOT one of them. Don't let the serene looking photo fool you. Too many people cramped into campsites that are too close together and the whole place stays noisy till the wee hours of the morning.

I prefer some of the other camp grounds, such as Jumbo Rocks Campground.
Cheers, Marc

Re: Still Rare

I did get fooled by the looks, and I keep forgetting CA is now home to as many people as Poland. OK, if I went (seems unlikely but I'm old enough to have learned miracles do happen), I'd camp at Jumbo Rocks, surely without booze, which I'm not actually a fan of:-) BTW, do people often drop litter in the parks? I've heard a fine can be up to $1,000 in CA. Is this true?

Re: Still Rare

No, they don't. Actually just about everywhere you go within the national parks in the US, you don't see much trash. People just pick up the trash and haul it out. The only place you still see a lot of trash is the base of El Capitan in Yosemite. I have taken time to clean up, and haul out empty plastic bottles many time, and I have seen other people that do the same. I'm sure you know why there are so many empty bottles end up on the base, but I'll make a refference to it too. Empty bottles are dropped by climbers on the face. Most people don't want a lot of empty bottles in the haul bag. When I was into that game, I solved the problem by carrying collapable bottles. They take almost no space on the bottom of the haul bag.
