Higher up in the Königstal

The Königstal is a valley perpendicular to the Gurglertal, near the little hamlet of Poschach. At its upper, south eastern, end, it reaches the border with Italy at the Königsjoch. The coordinates given are from high up in the valley. The trail will turn right soon, to a former customs hut, and ascend the last 150m to the saddle from there. The saddle can have snow and a dangerous cornice well into summer. On the other side, the trail descends into the Seemertal, quite steeply at first. 5 July 2008.
