West ridge from Slag-A-Melt Lakes
A really fun and easy short day. The ATV track up to the lakes is pleasant, although quite dusty. Nice little brookies in the lower lake. The west ridge is neat, and it turns into a mini little rooster comb near the top. Members of the Hirschy family and their ranch hands seem to come up to this summit the most. Thanks for being great stewards of this area! Awesome views, only wish it was not so smoky.

route: from SE through a logging operationhad to go through some guy's logging operation, our dog barely made it down, he was too old to be climbing peaks.

Route Climbed: East ridge Date Climbed: August 14, 2004Very satisfying. It was the only thought that kept popping into my head while looking at Hirschy Mountain on the drive out on MT 43.
