Historic Graffiti in Mammoth Cave

In the dining room 200 feet below the surface of Mammoth Cave Ridge there are some excellent examples of historic graffiti. Most, like these, were made with candle soot. When the historic entrance was the only entrance, this would have been 5-6 miles in from the entrance. Now it's about two miles from the artificial Carmichael Entrance. March 2010.
