It is. This was a recipe that my Father has used for years when we camped. He learned of it while being a Boy Scout years ago in the Sacto. area.
Ate variations of this meal countless times from my youth in Girl Scouts (regrettably missing the wine, of course) to cooked in our fireplace at home when the power went out a few years ago!
