Route Climbed: from Matreier Tauernhaus Date Climbed: July 18th 2004
on the last day of a week's vacation we climbed Hochgasser along the beautiful hiking routes of the "3 lakes". There was still many snow for mid July but the summer route along the ridge from Alter Tauern pass was almost free of it. With climbing the minor summit of Messlingkogel in addition and with the return via St. Poeltener hut it was a long (1600 m ascent) but nice day of hiking in the Hohe Tauern.
