nice submit! Hochgrabe is a nice mountain, a major one of the Villgraten Group, there is no need for apologizing at all! With its northern ramp it has a characteristic shape, so Hochgrabe is the best Villgraten peak to recognize from elsewhere.

I'm sure a route description will follow.

I hope I get back my scanner slide feeder repaired tomorrow, then I can contribute some pictures.

First ascent of Hochgrabe by Victor Hecht on August 26th 1870

Thanks Mathias. Yes route(s) will come up today or tomorrow. Thanks also for all the infos. I haven't looked into the hut links since I don't know Hohe Tauern well enough to contribute more than the few mountains I climbed last vacation. I'll add the info later. Since there is no group for Hohe Tauern yet, should I create one? Where can I find which peaks go in there, since Seba's page seems to be incomplete, or is it? I need to check.

I have some plans for a Villgraten Group page - but unfortunately I am not as quick as you

We could certainly cross link pictures for a group page, I can help you with that - I'll probably submit Großes Degenhorn and Finsterkofel (east of Gumriaul) sometime soon.

All mountains have a certain unique beauty to them, although sometimes it may be hard to find, it's definitely there and you just have to look a little harder sometimes. Trust me, being from PA I know this much. There are people that head to the summits to peak bag and gloat, and there are people who head to the summits for the joy of being there. I have never seen a summit in the Alps that wasn't spectacular and a beauty to behold. Your page is excellent Gangolf and your photos were great once again. Very excellent job again, just like always!

Thanks Brit. I agree with what Mathias has said - this is an important mountain. the point I wanted to make was about the other mountain - who can say which one is important and which one is not? Or attractive anyway. Depends on your idea of beauty, doesn't it?

Well Gangolf, do I need to say the words :-) I like the overview very much, beautifully written! As Mathias said there is no need to justify putting up this page but you make a beautiful point about it in overview so don't change it. Also have to mention how I liked Britt's comment.

Since I'm not a technical climber and am mainly into walking and backpacking, this mountain looks like a winner to me.

Thanks. The labels weren't the problem (thanks to Mathias help - and actually the help of many more for the Dolomites pictures). Actually cutting the pictures to roughly the same size (or even stitching) took more time (and thinking).

Another good page. I think minor peaks also should have their place here: They can not all be everests, k2's and mont blanc's. When people enjoy going to them that is enough.
