Good reading -

remembering us that being alert about avalanches for shure is a good thing. In case one has a bad feeling on a slope I think it is prudent to avoid it. Take a longer route or even bail. I badly remember that the only avalanche that ever catched me: being very young then I was not tough enough to withstand the group and leader pressure to say NO and take the safer but longer route. It ended with a 'very fast' decend for 3 of us, spilling us over the bergshrund. Not scratched too much, but I believe we learnt the lesson then. Regards, Peter.

Re: Good reading -

thank you for your comment. I know the group and leader pressure as well - this was my second avalanche incident in the Sesvenna region, many years ago - it was the leader of the group travelling down with an avalanche and - thank God - escaping from it with only one broken rib and a shock. Happy + save climbing, Michael
