Hogback Moraine? Well, its a...

Hogback Moraine? Well, its a moraine for sure, but in spring (and especially winter) you may not notice this heep as it was nearly buried even in late May. At this time of year its hardly the prominent land mark that route descriptions would have you believe.

Leaving the trail at the second large snow gully (pictured lower left) you head up and gain this moraine. I think we headed about 135-140 degrees once we got to the top of this moraine. This will get you onto the climber's right flank of the Colman glacier, and will head you toward the black buttes high camp.
