Well, it's easy, but with the right weather (which we didn't have) it sure is fun. On the other hand - hiking along these old World War I trails makes you a little reflective. Did you read my trip report about Peralba (which is 13 miles to the east)? It really starts you thinking when you see these trenches, dug 90 years ago, and still existing today. You just cannot believe that people shot each other to death in this beautiful region.

But they did! And many of them were among the best climbers / mountaineers of their day!

Nice honey bee shot. Pretty clear. Now if only your mountain shots could be so clear.

Ok, ok! I'll give you a clear mountain tomorrow. It really was disappointing. The Sexten Dolomites are the most impressive mountain range on earth (I really mean it) and being so close but not being able to see was pretty frustrating. Maybe next time.....

Thanks a lot for the vote!

Interesting! I heard for this mountain, but not for some on your pictures. Nice page!

Thanks Vid! Interesting is right. Close-up views of the Sexten Dolomites (if you see them) and a lot of history along Karnischer Höhenweg. Really strange to see the many trails that still exist on both sides of the border. The best, of course, is the one directly traversing the (very easy) ridge.

Thanks, Dean! I liked your last one, too! I'm not too hapy with the pictures but we (Vid, Mathias, Marco, Gabriele and I) are putting up a new structure for the Carnic Alps and I always need to muster up my courage by posting "unknown" peaks of the range before closing in on the real target. Stay tuned - the nice mountains will follow ;-)

Nice page: well organized and informative. Good pictures in spite of the uncooperative weather. Thanks for posting!
