Houndstongue

Houndstongue

Cynoglossum officinale. Heughes Canyon, Wasatch Mtns, 6/19/08 The name comes from the veined pink petals which kind of resemble pooches' stuck-out tongues. Introduced from Europe, houndstongue does not appear to be terribly invasive in Utah, but you can spot it along almost all of the foothill trails.
