Housing Development in Sutter Buttes

New home going up in the Sutter Buttes. In the spirit of "freedom" Sutter County allows lots to be carved out of the Maidu and Wintun Indian's sacred mountain. Since 2000, around 40 speculative lots have been created. So far around six homes have been constructed. On December 4th Sutter County supervisors approved a 900-acre subdivision on the southern part of the mountain. The land is zoned for lots down to one acre in size.
