Just one of those places
We did the climb on our 2nd day at MP and it was wonderful. The place gets under your skin after a while as does Peru. I was very surprised to see people trying to get up with no water and flip flops. There are areas with some pretty signifigant exposure.

After Inca Trail
After getting off the Inca trail, decided to go up with another SPer. Watch out, it's slippery!
Amazing trip. We took the Jungle Inca Trail from Cuzco and biked 60km through the Andes in the rain, straight down. Then the next day was a long hike over all kinds of mountains in full packs. The next day a shorter hike to AC. MP was awesome but honestly the views from the top of Huayna was better because we earned it and it wasn't so crowded back there. I had wanted to climb that peak for 8 years and it was real fulfilling.

Huayna Picchu ascent
Had to get up at 3am to get in line (4am) for the bus that is heading up the mountain at 5.30am. About 100 people, who had been hiking up at night, were already waiting at the gate. Only the first 400 get a permit, divided into 2 groups at 7-8am and 10-11am. It is totally worth it though. The view of the Inka ruins on Machu Picchu are spectacular and Huayna Picchu has some impressive ruins itself, the former seat of the high priest, built into the steep upper slopes.

Best View of Machu Pichu
A must for anyone visiting Machu Pichu. The climb in itself is quite fun, fairly easy but steep in some places. You can't beat those views...

Amazing!
Definitely one of the highlights of the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu. Gotta love crawling through the tunnels on the way up. The view from the summit is amazing!

Wonderful vista
After three days of biking and trekking through the jungle. The climb up huayna picchu was definitely the highlight of the machu picchu visit, but make sure to go get a stamp on your entry pass early, and bring enough water for the (~2h) roundtrip.
