Hunkering down in the wind at...

Hunkering down in the wind at the top of Kala Pataar in 1982. It was freezing and my gloves were off a lot to adjust the camera. Stayed until sunset and wandered down in the dark with the help of my Sherpa Pasang. Only now when I look back at this photo I notice the facial edema. Photo: Ronald S. Diamond, 1982.

String?

Beautiful shot... was this a self portrait? It looks like you might have a string hooked to the camera.

Re: String?

No no string just a scramble with the timer on. Cheers William

Re: String?

Actually now I’m confused. I assumed that I used the timer but I see my caption says my friend took the image. Now I can’t remember who took it. I will assume he took it as we were together I believe on that day. So still no string.... (•: Cheers William

Re: String?

Now that I am on a different computer I don't see that little line that looked like string... and I see the photo credit... Kala Pataar was the hike that got me into mountains... I dont know why I had to go to Nepal to do it since I went to school in Colorado... but hey, that's just how it happened. And as you know, anybody who has been to Himal has got to fall in love with mountains.
