Such a great story!
I hiked on Hurricane Ridge last August when it was warm so I certainly could picture the beginning of your experience. Thankfully your group was somewhat prepared and everything turned out okay. Also goes to show how much weather forecasting has changed over the years!

Thanks for your nice note. A couple years after this event I moved up to Mt. Rainier and worked in the park, met my wife Betsy and many hikers and climbers-- only the beginning of lessons, but some good ones-- over confidence and youth are happy companions, but dangerous! I visited your albums-- some great photos.
