One climber nears the end of the traverse, and two others are approaching the top of the Old (West) Chute. I was glad to be out of the way of any falling ice. Lower in the chute, I heard a a piece come down, and a climber making the traverse was hit. Fortunately, the snow was soft enough that he didn't slide very far after it knocked him over. Later on the summit, he said he estimated the ice chuck was about 4 feet long, and initially thought his leg was broken, but he was ok. June 30, 2008
