Beartooth Pass Peak

Beartooth Pass Peak

Enlarge for better viewing. This unnamed peak is around 11,000' and sits just west of Beartooth Pass in Wyoming. From the western approach, it appears that the road is leading straight to it, but then it twists to bypass a deep gash between the peak and the road, revealing cliffs on the eastern face that may provide challenging scrambling or technical climbing. From the west, this peak can be easily climbed by dropping to Frozen Lake and then scrambling/rock-hopping up the steep talus of the western or southern face (both pictured here).
