Serene landscape at the Iceline Trail

The appr. 11 km long Iceline Trail in Yoho National Park starts near the Takakkaw Falls and leads along the North-East side of the President Range to the upper Little Yoho Valley (Stanley Mitchell Hut). The trail crosses various moraines at the base of the former larger glaciers of the President Range at an altidue of around 2000 m. The view from the trail is open to the North and East with beautiful sights of the glaciers in and above the Yoho Valley and to the Takakkaw Fall. Bushman's Paradise at Spitzkoppe, Namibia, and the place shown at this photo compete for my "most loved point on earth". And both places differ extremely: Warm, orange rocks in the desert under the Namibian sun contrast with white-blue, cold glaciers with turquoise water in a barren rock scenery at Iceline Trail!
