Incredible cragging! Without a doubt, some of the best single pitch climbing in the world
Ended up in Indian Creek after the park closure forced us out of Yosemite. It took me a long painful while to begin leading some of the 5.9s there and succesfully toproping some 10s and 11s. Supercrack and Blue Gramma were my two favorite climbs. I hope to return very soon!
Learned (painfully) to crack climb here. Now I love it and use jamming everywhere! Looking forward to this fall.
Elspeth and I climbed something unnamed to the SE, between
supercrack buttress and newspaper rock; only 1 pitch, but what a pitch! I said "maaan! We have to come back!"
Many trips with my mom and her climbing friends
My favorite place to crack climb.
An amazing place. The quality & quantity of the routes is unreal. Wish I was there now!
Being in the Creek is what makes being a climber great.
I made my 1st trip to IC back in early April of this year and was totally awestruck by the miles and miles of Windgate sandstone, incredible place. So many superb climbs that are “un-named” in the guidebook that would be 5-star classic anywhere else.
It simply gets no better than the Creek. Always respect the rancher's properties and give some money to the Friends of Indian Creek group.
well several trips, some success and some not, and mostly beat up hands (I can barely type now :), but always happy over there.
