Is this a route marker?

Thisis on the Tellakopf east ridge, which I'm descending. High up, the ridge wasn't wide enough to get lost, not even below the tree line. But lower down it got much wider, and since the trail was clearly not used regularly, it wasn't always clear where I should go next. These lines are not the usual color scheme to mark a route in this part of the world, so I didn't know what to make of it. At times where I didn't see anything resembling a trail, I basically just kept descending in a generally eastern direction, going wherever the terrain was easiest.
