Mill Creek
Two-night, three-day trip along creek. Lovely & remote; trail in poor condition, with deadfalls and lots of overhanging poison oak. Beautiful campsite only 2.1 miles in; another, more in the trees, another 2 miles along. Thereafter, trail nearly vanishes. Last 4 miles to Black Rock trailhead are very rough drive; must have high clearance, preferably 4x4. Worth the trouble because of the remoteness and the dramatic landscape, from riparian forest to chaparral, with enormous volcanic palisades on the upper slopes. Lots of wildflowers in spring.

Mill Creek
Trail ran the Mill Creek trail; got a tick on the back of my neck/head that I didn't discover until hours later. Pretty area.
