Jam Exam

Jam Exam

Leading Jam Exam (5.9) on the Royal Columns. Haydar is belaying (much thanks man!). This is great fun route with my kinda hand size on the lower half. Upper half is the crux (Apr. 16, 2006).

Nice!

Nice lead man! I have good memories of that crack. I see that my description from memory 2 years ago is off. Could you provide a correct one please. Thanks.

Re: Nice!

Thanks Martin!
I thought it was as good as Inca Roads (touch easier though IMHO). I guess I'd say that lower half goes from figners (very bottom) to mostly wide hands (#3 Camalot.....good hands for me ;); then you hit the rest stance. Above there's some weird side pulling/liebackmove (above a #2 Camalot) to get some fingerlocks and one or two more hand jams. For gear, I think I'd take 2X #.5, 2X #2-#3, 1X #0.75-#1 Camalots.

Practicing your

freesoloing on 5.9 terrain? I don't see too much gear in there. :-)

Re: Practicing your

Thanks man but you know how bomber hand-jam prone that lower section is (esp. if you like #3's )
