Jiggs, Nevada

This two-story brick building was built in 1916 as a hotel. Still standing but now abandoned, it remains the most prominent structure in the small town of Jiggs, Nevada. Located in Mound Valley at the base of the western Ruby Mountains, the naming of Jiggs resembles a carousel. It has been named Cottonwood, Dry Creek, Mound Valley, Skelton, and Hylton before finally settling on Jiggs in 1918. The town faded in the 1920s and only a few residents remain today.
