John Day River

After passing through the Painted Hills Unit we drove past Burnt Rock and found this great landscape scene just at sunset. This was my first time this far along the roadway so I was a bit unfamiliar to the area and now know where and when to be here to capture the site correctly. The road leads to Ashwood, and after turning nto another dirt road you will find yourself at Rajneespuran, and a short distance from Clarno. This area is reknown for its volcanic features as it is a part of the Clarno Volcano Fields.
