Johnny Cash Falls

Johnny Cash Falls offers some of the best climbing along the Parks Highway. The climb is located on the far side of the river, so you have to wait for the river to freeze over to access it (this picture was taken in mid January). The river runs fast through the canyon, so be careful where you cross, and rope up if there's any doubt. Johnny Cash emerges from a seep about 3/4 up the rock face and splits into two climbs. Sunday Morning Coming Down (WI3) on the left is the steeper of the two, while Folsom Prison Blues (WI2) falls to the right and is a great climb for a beginning leader.
