Altipiano del Montasio or high plateau of Montaz is one of the special corners of Julian Alps. Its endless grassy slopes begin at around 1500m while behind, like a wild curtain, is long parade of beautiful peaks. Only third of the crest is on the photo. Left is Montaz (2754m), highest peak of the group and second highest in Julian Alps. Right, lit by the setting Sun, is Cima di Terrarossa (2420m).
