The ExtrusionThis looks very familiar. Is The Extrusion anywhere near the Millstone Slab?
I was just wondering because they both start from the Lake Blanche trailhead.

Re: The ExtrusionWell, I could never find a name for this thing, so I took the liberty of naming it myself. Perhaps THIS is the Millstone Slab? Do you know if there's a way to check? I know that the next canyon up (Mineral Fork?) has another huge slab near the beginning of the canyon.

Re: The ExtrusionHmmm, I've always thought that this was the Millstone Slab. Of course, I would have no way of knowing that because I have never climbed there.
If you look at the Millstone, in the book Rock Climbing Utah's Wasatch Range, it seems much steeper than the slab in your picture. Most of the routes are all 5.10+. My guess is that The Millstone is not the slab in your picture but that it must be in the same area.
Actually, I'm more confused now, then when I first asked the question.

Re: The ExtrusionActually (flipping through pages in the guidebook), it appears that this might still be Millstone Slab, but the book covers the pumpy routes on the vertical walls on the periphery of the slab, and not on the slab itself. The approach is strange - I never noticed much of a climbers trail, and its so easy to cross the stream to the open and solid talus slope, I'd think it would be easier to follow the main trail!

Re: The ExtrusionYou know, the approach would take you right there, and the book's description fits that of the slab - I think its safe enough to assume that it is Millstone - I'll change the name!
