June 15, 2003 - via the...

June 15, 2003 - via the southwest slopes. Looking northeast, this is the view once out of the beautiful valley below. This is the saddle between La Plata and Rinker Peak to the west. This also not the summit but once to the top of this somewhat steep slope the summit is less than a half mile away.

This photo does not justice

When you hit that saddle and look at that steep ridge that you now have to climb, well lets just say it is a lot more impressive in person. 4 stars

Very Helpful

I picked my way up this slope in Aug. 1995 thinking surely there must be a route through the mess of rocks only finding "stealth cairns". The guy following me thought I knew where I was going or so he told me when we met on the summit. slowbutsteady
