June 25th, 2005 - A huge buckled snow slab (ca. 10-15ft thick) on the smooth quartize slabs of the Robinson Couloir. Sometimes these slabs, which have lost much cohesion with the quartzite bed surface, break free and race down the hill as a glide avalanche, a major hazard during springtime thaws in Broads Fork and Stairs Gulch.
