The Colorado River of the Grand Canyon in July 1991, just downriver from Phantom Ranch, AZ. If you WEAR flip-flops here, you're running a risk of getting stung by a scorpion. In this photo, you can see the Kaibab Suspension Bridge. Built in 1928, the rigid bridge spans the Colorado River at the foot of the South Kaibab Trail. Construction presented difficulties, as does most work in the Canyon. During the intense heat of summer, most work was carried out at night under floodlight. The main cables for the bridge were carried by Havasupai Indians who hoisted the cables to their shoulders and headed down the seven mile trail.The tower or temple in the distance is the top 1/4 of Zoroaster Temple.

Love It!

So beautiful! I miss the Grand Canyon so much it has been so many years since my last time there,,,,there is nothing quite like being right on the floor of it by the river,
I explored Phantom Creek onetime while there on a day hike, was by myself so only hiked in about 1 1/2 miles..it was so enchanting, little pools of water all over.
