In this summer 2008 Widening and expansion work of the 335km Karakurum Highway (KKH) started from Khunjerab (Pakistan China border).The $510 million worth highway is expected to be completed by 2011.

Thanks for posting!I never got any good shots of the Silk Route, despite taking coasters and buses from Pindi to Gilgit 4 times.
