Regarding Carnic Alps 'Hauptkamm', I have already finished the Stage 2 - route description. We can do it both, so may be only wait till I post it, then you will contribute your experiences. Until then, you can prepare the Stage 1 route description - from the start till Obstanser See. Will be fun to have them all in future ;)

I had also thought of this, but rather of stage 1, 80% (?) of which we did on the first day of our stay in Sexten. Twice, since we had to return to the cable-car ;-)
From stage two I only did the stretch between Obstanser See and Mittersattel (underneath Königswand)
One remark - I think "etappe" would be ok in French or German but the English word is "stage". Not sure though
