I am 70 years old and started hiking a year ago. It was almost 100 degrees today on Mt. Somobroso. The first time I took this trail, I got to the tree in the middle of the road and went back down. This time I hiked another 20 minutes higher but the heat was killing me. I wanted to make it to Priest Rock (about 4.2 miles) but I couldn't quite make it. Next time I will make it to Priest Rock and decend to Lexington. It took 2 beers at DD's before I cooled off. 3rd time is the charm
