Awesome Route, Arduous Deproach
Climbed Longs via the North Face, summit ski descent down Keplinger's and out Wild Basin. While totally worth it, the deproach out of Wild Basin is one long slog.

18 hour day
Using a compass and map, navigated our way through the dark toward Keplingers. A pretty fun couloir and not too steep. Descended Keyhole Route and got a ride back to our cars from some crazy European lady. Interesting way to spend St. Patrick's Day! With Chase.

Had it to ourselves
Camped at Sand Beach Lake, then hung out at the lake the next morning so that we could climb the route in the evening after the thunderstorms had passed and then sleep on the summit (shhh, don't tell the rangers). Great times with great friends. No one ever climbs this route!

The wilderness route on Longs
A better climb when there's snow in the couloir.
Total ascents = 3.
