The very first time I tried to climb Kineo, I tried this route because I had limited time. I gave up; the backsliding in scree is monumental! Good for you for persevering. How difficult would you rate the rock scrambling at the top?

Dave-I assumed others had done my route considering all you have to do is go straight up. Scrambling is fun.
ctfbq-The worse spot is in the sand at the start once you get past that it's a bit less steep, but the trees definitely make it feel safer. I don't know what the ratings mean, I'm actually more of a kayaker.
