Moose @ Dollar Lake ...

A lot of people see moose at Dollar Lake. When I was there back in
the eighties, I heard a strange sound at night that could have
been a moose or bear, or maybe even the rare "Moose-Bear."

Great report on Kings!

Re: Moose @ Dollar Lake ...

Thanks, Icarreau! Unfortunately I never had the privilege to see such a creature. Maybe somewhere like Sportsman's has a Moose-Bear call to draw one in. ...

Nice report

You lucked out camping that high up. Many times there are thunderstorms. Congrats on your climb.

Re: Nice report

Thank you, Bark Eater!
I didn't think about it at the time, but you're certainly right. As a matter of fact, after I was descending and passing Dollar Lake, clouds began surrounding the higher ground from which I'd just departed. I didn't hear thunder, but it was good to be out of that area.

Wow!

It sounds like you just ran up the mountain. I have hiked Kings in three days, and my summit day from Dollar lake to the summit and back took a solid 10 hours. You made it up much faster. Great photos and great write up too.

Re: Wow!

Thanks Dave. I'll tell ya what really baffles me: These people who basically run the whole thing in 10 hours or so!
