Yeah, we still have this upcoming weekend fully occupied by the course (got Defiance hike on Sunday and some snow stuff on Saturday). AFter that we're free.
Seems as though we've been talking about doing Pueblo for the longest time and it just hasn't happened yet! If you DO finally go, make sure to take (and post) many photos.
Excellent page -- thanks! I've been hiking the Kings trail for many years, and it's been interesting to watch the changes as the trees grow taller. Now you don't get wide-open views till you reach the summit, and they're still spectacular. And the flowers were at their peak on Saturday (6/26/10). More ominously, you can see a lot more clearcuts in the Tillamook Forest these days, and it'll only get worse -- even next to the Little Kings Mtn. trail. Just ten years ago, the forest was nearly unbroken.
Yeah, I've noticed the increasing clear cuts and I agree, it appears a lot more is coming on the LKM Trail. Unfortunate but still a great hike and so close to home, I do this one several times a year. Sorry I missed the wildflowers this year. Some friends of mine are doing the Elk-Kings traverse this weekend so at least they'll be able to see them.
Cheers,
Brian

Untitled CommentHey thanks! I see that you hit Elk Saturday. I like that steep little one. I always get ticks on me there though. HATE those things.
Are you guys still in the Mazamas thing this weekend? I'm thinking of (finally) getting out to Pueblo Peak.
