Summited via SE Ridge. Hundreds of fell trees and lots of snow made for an arduous summit day from Upper Kintla CG. Satisfying views and perfect weather the whole day!

Kintla 2011  Sucess!

Plans were to do both Kintla and Kinnerly. Started out canoeing the lower kintla lake, hiked up to the start of the bushwack traverse to an undesignated campsite on the northwest base of peabody peak. From there, we traversed grassy ledges to finally find a dried up drainage down into the aggassiz glacier basin. Traverse the basin to the saddle between Kintla and Peabody, and then summited Kintla via it's southern ridgeline. Traced our selves back to the saddle, and then traversed to the base of the notch between Kintla and Kinnerly for an overnight bivy. Due to time (we all had work the next day back at Lake McDonald, and I didn't have front point crampons to ascend the snow filled notch) we decided to leave Kinnerly for another time in our lives. The bushwack back to the trail sucked ass, would recogmmend it to anyone seeking a lot of fun and enjoyment in Glacier!
