Kite lake. Our base camp for...

Kite lake. Our base camp for our Democrat summit
on December 31st, 2003. My tent is on the left. My
snow walls were not the best but they did break
the often strong gusts of wind that may have hit 60
mph!

This pic is post summit as you can tell no one is still standing. I am in the shadow in the middle laying on the ground :)

Ha

Considering I am curled up in a ball you know I felt this climb. Well more like I felt the descent...

And...

...I also felt like leaving. Wait, did someone even suggest staying another night? Um, mission was accomplished....now let's get outta here, shower, and drink champagne. It is New Year's eve after all. :D

Has to be

one of my favorite camping experiences ever- we had that place dialed down. If only we could have made a better place to cook... We should have brought a cook tent- it would have smelled much better.
