Klapatche Park

Ancient glaciers scoured the landscape at Mount Rainier National Park, creating these small mountain lakes or "tarns." Time goes by quickly when you gaze into these bodies of water. In fact, this photo was taken on a hike I went on 26 years ago, and it seems like yesterday. This was taken at 5,500 feet, just west of Tokaloo Rock. The Wonderland Trail continues on, descending in 2-3/4 miles to the North Puyallup River and proceeding from there to Golden Lakes.
