Cross Country SkiingNice photo. You seem to do a lot of cross country skiing. I did it once LONG ago in college, but I have the urge to get into it.. maybe even do it once a week. What gear would I need to get started?

Re: Cross Country SkiingMy choices of gear have just an extraordinarily horrible reputation, so maybe you shouldn't ask me for an advice :) Just to keep the things as simple as possible, I would recommend waxless skis and not longer than 170s. But the details really depends on what kind of terrain you expect.
Hey - I thought you don't like cold weather ... and the snow is best served cold ;)

Re: Cross Country SkiingI don't! ... but I still hike in it... hike just about every weekend no matter what the weather. How about boots? I have such a hard time with hiking shoes because my feet are wide (or really my toes spread out like a frog or something) and there is no where here to try them on... so I have to order online.

Width is a real issuebut I am in no position to give you any good advice. I have wide ft and outsized bunyons, and I always end up choosing larger boot sizes and softer boots than anyone could possibly recommend. But it ain't no way to buy online!

Re: Width is a real issueWe have like feet! :)
Maybe I could take a run to Brianhead... that's fairly close. :)
