La Fontana

La Fontana (844m) as seen from north just after desecending Maineton. I was quite amazed about the crops growing in the lower part of the image. The soil is very sandy and really dry. More to the top the soil becomes outcropping sandstone which gives La fontana it's fabolous shape. Picture taken in june 2005, it was about 35 to 40 degrees Celcius in the area (every day!) Fontana is quite easy to access. Just hike/scramble to the top in about an hour. (No routes are present) South-east Spain
