We went up (starting at the Sandstone Quarry) to the Turtlehead Peak saddle, along the ridge, and then to La Madre. 4 hours up and 3 hours down. If you're looking for a shortcut, you can take the wash from the Sandstone Quarry all the way around the Turtlehead Peak ridge. This saves a lot time, needless elevation gain/loss, and is a lot easier. We did this on the way down.

From the northWith Susan & company in November 2004.
That scar is quite interesting to view up close.
Returned with Harlan, DB and company in 2008 (I think). Also bagged El Padre (and another one whose name I forget) while I was back in there.
