Approach changes

As of 11-15-08 one proceeds north on 5300 West, negotiates a round-a-bout, continues north on what is now "Main Street" and then follows the road as it gently turns east and becomes "Heritage Hills Drive." This street stops at an intersection with Grove Drive. One turns north there and then looks for the left on to Aspen Cove Drive, etc. This is much easier than looking for 600 North, etc.

TH parking, etc.

The steel gate which has been in place for a long time is no longer there as of late January 2011. There is now a real estate For Sale sign hanging near the former gate (this is near the gabled garage on the west side of the road). Thus the temptation to drive further is greater, but I would not recommend it.

More trailhead road alterations

As of late 2011 and early 2012 the road is easily negotiated as far as the water tank. At the water tank a large ornamental steel gate adorns the road and signals the end for vehicle travel. This cuts off about 100' of elevation gain and 15 minutes for the hike.

Re: More trailhead road alterations

Moogie737,

"the road is easily negotiated as far as the water tank"

Passenger car or high clearance vehicle? And how much parking is available by the water tank?

Basically I'm trying to decide if its worth driving the SUV gas hog to shave off some of the hike or drive the fuel efficient car.

Thanks,
Ryan
