Looks coldLooks like you had fun trip to Canada - Louise falls is a fun climb, as long as the tourists don't distract you! Cheers!

Re: Looks coldIt was that was January 2008 when the temp. dropped to where Celcius and farinheight meet -40 .Also was when they had the Nordic World cup where a locale lady from Canmore won in the sprints . It was fun being up there watching that race on our rest day. We had been climbing in a canyon just outside of Banff where some pillars of ice had came down due to the extreme cold drop in the temp. prior to us getting there luckly. That day on Lake Louise Falls was about -38. Climbed Louise Falls in 2004 on a fullmoon night at 2:30 am was awonderful climb and nite to remember .

Re: Looks coldOK - you're hard core. The only time I've climbed when it's that cold is by accident (I thought it was warmer). See my trip report from the Weeping Wall - lost the nails off both my big toes (frost bite). Our general rule here is; if its less than -15C, we go climbing, if its colder than -15C we stay home with our warm wives. Glad you had a good trip to Canada!!

Re: Looks coldWhile we were climbing it one party got to the last pitch and bailed and there was only one horse buggy full of tourist they did stay around two long we heard some people talking in the bar later about a bunch of crazy climbers on the falls . Oh well still had a real good time I love climbing ice . If you are coming to Colorado this summer stay in touch would do a route with you in Eldorado Canyon Yellow Spur one of my favorites It is 5.9 5.10 depending on the variation
