Landing Strip

A gathering at the landing strip. That's Gunnar Naslund (seated center, in green), who met his untimely death on August 4, 1982, when he was struck by a collapsing cornice in Alaska. To his right is Young Chu (red hat); to his left is Frances the radio operator (she died of cancer). On either end are some Swiss climbers.
