Landmark for descent

13-May-2006: The large pointed rock (just left of center) marks where you should cut over into the next gully if you want to avoid downclimbing or glissading the last 300' of the West Face Gully proper (40-ish degrees). This variation is a little less steep. Cut over above this rock, but only if early enough in the year that the slopes below still hold snow.
