Last Pic of the Goat

Last Pic of the Goat

My last view of the goat, surveying all below us. I finally ditched her in a minute.

Possibilities

Good choices for your trips coming up. Still, might I suggest a trip into the Middle Fork Kings River (Palisades), Kaweah Peaks, Great Western Divide, Kings-Kern Divide, all in The High Sierra? I'd love to hike over Mather Pass (12,000+) this year, but can't.

Re: Possibilities

Hopefully I can get to the Sierras one day. Not sure why but they just have not been on my radar much so far. I will keep your suggestions in mind and look into them. Thanks.

Re: Possibilities

I think you'll be knocked out with the Sierras! The weather is the finest for mountaineering in the U.S. I'd definitely recommend a trip from Mineral King, Sequoia Nat'l Park, over Glacier Pass, Black Rock Pass and ultimately into the Big Arroyo where you can work your way via Kaweah Pass into Kaweah Basin. There are many options to loop this trip--including Pyra-Queen Col. Anyway, the Kaweahs are some of the wildest peaks in the West--particularly Black Kaweah. Look them up here on SummitPost. Best, Michael

Re: Possibilities

Thanks for the suggestion again. Loops are always great. I have started researching the Kaweahs here on Summitpost and they look pretty appealing. I do lean towards rugged isolated areas.
