Thanks Michael - i didn't know about the term "Montgelasnase" either, until I poked my own nose into the Kompass Wanderkarte. ;-)) I always knew of the "Schlafende Hexe". Interesting...I wonder if this has to do with some figure in the Napoleonic wars...maybe some general who had a peculiarly shaped nose...would be interesting to find out.
Oh no, Maximilian Carl Joseph Franz de Paula Hieronymus Graf von Montgelas (oh yes !!!) was minister to king Maximilian Ist from 1799 to 1817 and if you look at his picture e.g. in Wikipedia, you will know about his nose :-)) He was responsible for the "Säkularisation" in Bavaria.
