Laurel Mountain

Laurel Mountain has the privilege of hosting a FAA facility, as seen in this photo taken in rainy conditions. It is recommended that permission be sought to visit the high point since the area is posted as "no trespassing". See my entry posted HERE. An additional problem of visiting this area is posed by the fact that the Weyerhauser road up to the gate of the road to the facility is gated and locked most of the year with the exception of hunting season. Laurel Mountain is also the high point of Polk County. Here is a topo link. 10-19-03
